International Cyber Security Education Coalition

 

ARTICLE I

The Purpose of the International Cyber Security Education Coalition is to provide unified leadership for information assurance education and research initiatives in both the public and private sector.  It will conduct research, education and training programs provide scholarships, and services to promote excellence in Information Assurance (Security) education.

 

The name of the organization is INTERNATIONAL CYBER SECURITY EDUCATION COALITION (IC-SEC)

 

ARTICLE II

 

Members:  There shall be three classes of members: Educational Institution, Corporate and Student/Individual. Membership will be granted after the qualifications have been met and an affirmative vote of two-thirds of all of the members of the Board. New members will be recognized at the Annual meeting, to be held each Spring.

 

Educational Institution Qualifications. 

  1. Membership is open to two and four-year institutions accredited by a federally recognized, regional accrediting agency, and must be capable of articulating their computer science, computer information system, or information technology programs.
  2. Educational Members must commit to active participation in efforts of the IC-SEC
  3. Educational Member schools are committed to certifying the Information Assurance elements of their curriculum through IACE mapping (CNSS 4011) in the United States or ISO Standards Globally.
  4. Educational Members must receive certification within two years of gaining membership to become "Full Voting" Members.

 

Corporate, government and industry Qualifications:

  1. Membership is open to business, government and industry representatives that foster IA development, based on national and international standards. 
  2. Corporate members will provide practical experience in the field of IA to the IC-SEC institutional body.  This experience will be provided by job shadowing, co-op and internship positions in the area of IA.
  3. Corporate members must commit to active participation in efforts of the IC-SEC
  4. Corporate members that demonstrate IA is practiced by documentation will gain “Full Voting” membership.

Student or individual Qualifications:

  1. Membership is open to IA students of any “Member” Educational Institution.
  2. Students or Individual must commit to active participation in efforts of the IC-SEC.
  3. Membership is open to Individuals that are IA Certified Professionals. (ie. CISSP, CIAP, BSI Auditor)
